Checked out Ahon whilst my girlfriend and I did some work, the food (cheese steak) was decent but the real winner in the cafe was definitely the dirty matcha I ordered, easily the best matcha I’ve had since moving to PH in February. My favourite local place in San Mateo. Staff were also very welcoming.
I had my first dirty matcha here, and I’ve since ordered that drink in cafes like Elephant Grounds in BGC and Humble Beginnings in QC. Ahon’s dirty matcha by far beats the other two. Perfectly balanced, not too bitter nor sweet. I enjoyed the rest of the meals as well. All of it was reasonably priced too! The chicken in the burger was perfectly cooked, crispy and juicy. The bread was great. The rest of the burger, ie coleslaw was just alright. I liked my boyfriend’s order of Philly cheesesteak too. It’s probably not authentic nor the best, but it was just right where I had no complaints…
