Arya Persian Restaurant is one of the Iranian style cuisines in Shangri-La Mall. The other Persian, such as Gilak by Hossein, is located in Makati and not in Shangri-La. It is a high-class restaurant with comfortable seats to get the experience eating Iranian-style foods while in the Philippines. The good news is they don't impose a service charge. I ordered the National Dish of Iran, the Gormeh Sabzi. It is a lamb stew with leafy coriander and beans on it. The taste is normal, not salty. However, this is an ala- carte item, where you need to order a separate rice.

While I like Indian cuisine for its complex mix of spices, I love Persian food for its citrus subtlety and dominant use of the prized and most coveted heady saffron - which Arya never fails me when it comes to that authentic taste of a Persian cuisine even after many years. My son and I feasted on their generous serving of beef biryani, samosa (got a 2nd order 😋), sizzling ox brain (ohh, no "gamey" taste at all!), Koobideh platter, and freshly made roti with curry dip. The Tabbouleh salad although pricey, was so delicious. Portioning could be increased. I was pleasantly surprised of how zesty this salad is! What a digestive delight!!! 🙂 Chicken Koobideh was extremely tasty and gives you a glimpse of Persian cuisine. Truly exceptional!

Best HALAL restaurant in the mall! :) Considering that selection for halal restaurants or outlets in Manila is limited for travellers like me, this is definitely a great option. Also it offers excellent service, great ambience and very tasty food at reasonable prices. I really have no complaints. You should try this place out if ever you are at Shangrila Plaza in Manila.

Warm and inviting space to be in with all the Middle Eastern touches and decor. Dishes we ordered were packed full of flavour. Their chicken biryani was my fave, fragrant rice and chicken cooked in aromatic herbs and spices. Staff was friendly and attentive. A nice experience to try Persian food in Manila.
