I enjoyed The Samurai Tempura set with two different sauces. Nothing spectacular about the dish since it is just deep fried tempura. It satisfied my tempura cravings though. The ambience of the place is intimate and cozy.
Though this Japanese restaurant is more known for their tempura, opted to try other selections from their menu. Food was okay, server did her best. But not much of a fan of the ambiance. It's dimly lit and gave a dull vibe, especially in the evening.
While there are other items on the menu. This restaurant serves more tempura. I tried the emperor set and it was really good. However serving size was small for the price. Serving time is fast. And restaurant staff is good in suggesting what to order. There recommendation meet our expectation.
I initially thought it was a fancy restaurant. Getting in, I saw the table setups and the menu covered in plastic, my mind went “Oh, it’s not!”. Considering this, I expected 😅 that the prices were below than what’s listed. Other than that, they have filling food. Absolutely liked their vegetable tempura and salmon sashimi. Be wary of the size of your orders as it might be too much for your appetite.
I would recommend Asakusa to my family and friends. My boss can't actually eat anything that has gluten, but the staff there was always willing to accommodate our needs. They have friendly employees. Moreover, I adore the meals they provided. For the most part, I give it a thumbs up.
