Very pleasantly surprised with the food. It did say house of tempura but we didn't really order that, so my expectations weren't that high, but I'm happy that it exceeded my expectations. Food was cooked and seasoned perfectly, loved the Sukiyaki don(udon). We'll definitely try the tempura next time. On a side note service was also good, liked that they had a high chair for my daughter, I always appreciate restaurants that have it, even though mostly do nowadays. Overall, an enjoyable experience, will definitely dine here again.
Food: Everything i tried out was great. Most of their dishes that can be found on other restaurants surprisingly was unique to them and had a unique flavor. They add their own twist to the recipe. Location: it's quit easy to spot along the restaurants at the grove. Once you get there you will be greeted by their friendly staff. The place has great interior but given the space they have they had to put the tables too close to one another which i think is the only downside.
This resto has seen better times with the cracked sofa seats but everyone is still recovering from the losses. Accepts all types of payments As for the food, the tempura lives up to it's name with the size of the prawn. Crunchy to the last bite. The kani salad was a disappointment with the quality of the lettuce used - don't bother ordering it. Everything else we ordered was generally good and satisfying. A reasonable Japanese resto more for comfort food meals. Very casual place. Food here is really set up for individual orders.
One of the best restaurants in Pasig. They really know how to make great tempura. Their Gyudon and Salmon are very good too. A few things to note: 1) they open only during lunch and dinner time. You can't come in anytime you want. 2) There's about 3% charge for take-outs, which is always a surprise, considering the food is pricey.
Horrible food. I’ve eaten at Asakusa more than 5 times in the past few years and my dinner tonight was just bad. The gyudon had terrible cuts of meat (couldn’t chew and swallow half of it). The shrimp in their tempura was tiny - nearly non existent. It was 90% batter. The gyoza was passable but it’s not difficult to get that wrong. Spent 1,800 for 2 people and wow I felt I was ripped off with the quality of the food. Do not recommend to anyone. Asakusa used to be a solid go-to. Sadly, that’s no longer the case.
