a relaxing time at Barcino as a massive storm was erupting outside the Newport Mall. so friendly staff member (Rodrigo), sorry if I mispelt the name, accomodating as I only wanted a glass of red (ended up having 2 of the lighter spanish).....food to compliment a great suggestion - jamon and cheese plus bread as comp perfect with the tomato salsa. thoroughly recommended you pop in here

I WALKED PAST THIS FOR 10yrs. I didn't know I was missing something so yummy for 10 long yrs. I remember back then that the ambience of this resto for a yuppie like us was so appealing, but my friends and I were so young when we first saw this resto. It was too expensive for us at the time so we ended up in a diff resto. Fast forward to yesterday, my family and I were looking for a place to spend our dinner and we ended up here. We ordered Calamari as an appetizer. First, we thought we had made a mistake as most are onion rings (80% onion ring + 20% calamari). Our paella mixta also included only a few squid rings, clams (about 5), and small mussels (about 2-3), plus two large prawns 🦐. We will not go back again.

Had to seat ourselves. Took more than an hour for our order to get served. I do not understand why the establishment was understaffed on a Saturday night. We couldn’t eat the food we ordered anymore because we were too late for our engagement. I tried ordering at the counter but was ignored by the staff. Tried approaching staff but was also ignored. Had I not shown my annoyance, I would not have been accommodated.

Today looking for a quick lunch so I order pasta, apparently the taste is not something that I like. It taste like the baby “spit up the milk,” then realise is because of blue cheese. The waitress should confirm with the customers whether they can accept blue cheese when taking the order. Then half way we eating, there is a big cockroach walking in the restaurant, can you imagine that? Personally I will not going back to this restaurant.
