Was in the search for non-commercialized Halo-halo. And this was one of the contender. Love their weird but good flavors.
The Halo halo was surprisingly good! It started out plain in the beginning, but as you start mixing it, you will discover that there are a lot more at the bottom of the first layer of ice. In my experience, the bottom portion was akin to mais, then deeper you'll find saba con yelo. Really interesting take on halo-halo. Place is really small with minimal amount of air conditioning. There are more ice cream flavors in the chest freezer, but they're subpar. Stick to the Halo halo instead.
I got the Salty Summer and I never knew salted eggs were good in halo-halo. It also has that awesome salted paste on top. The contrast in taste is simply brilliant. Some other halo-halo, when mixed, becomes fruit salad juice; some turns ice into rock. But this one turns into gelato or ice cream. I liked it. I also like the ingredients in it, which I think they make on their own. I envy the neighbors; they can have it anytime, any day.
It's a charming little place. Not all in the menu was available when I visited, which was unfortunate. I wish the pasta I ordered was warmer, but it's OK.
Their halo-halo is priced at P124 for the original version, with variations costing an additional P10 or less. Given its size and price, it feels slightly overpriced compared to other halo-halo offerings with larger portions. The ice quality is acceptable, but the milk flavor is inconsistent. The ingredients are fairly standard. Overall, it tastes fine but isn't particularly remarkable.
