Very delicious cansi! Beef soup soured locally, typical here in Cebu. Beef is so tender, soup so delicious and excellent with rice, and coca cola! This one in Escario just across the Mandarin plaza, near Ayala Center.

Cole's Cansi is a small eatery along Escario St. in Cebu City. We went there upon the recommendation of a friend. It's main dish is cansi, a Visayan specialty of beef and bone marrow, boiled for hours and made sour with a fruit called batuan. Served with rice. Perfect meal for meat lovers. We also ordered their other specialty, their crispy fried pork knuckles. Gotta eat it with your bare hands to really enjoy the experience. Perfect for an overcast weather. Love the taste of their Cansi (special with marrow) which serves 2-3 pax, Solo and Regular Cansi doesn’t have the marrow. Though they serve us with a warm Cansi, it should have been hot hence the rating. Their chopsuey is also worth it, the vegetables are still crunchy if you prefer it this way.

Food was tasty and good portions for the price. Staff were very friendly. The Beef soup is their signiture dish which I reccomand.

First time trying Cansi. I didn’t know it was so good! Like a combination of sinigang and bulalo, kinda sour, beef shank so tender. Bone marrow was also a surprise. The place is tiny, but the location is very convenient, just a few meters from Ayala Main/Parklane.
