For its offerings at this price point, Hawker Chan has always been completely mediocre. Nothing good and nothing bad about it. Comparing the food quality to the SM North Branch, the food here tastes slightly worse. Comparing the laksa to other competitors at this price point (Nanyang), it is also not as good. The roasts are also quite mediocre compared to other competitors at this price point, but not bad! Thankfully the roast pork retained the crispy skin, which is something that is disgustingly rare among a lot of establishments here selling "crispy" roast pork. Service was lackluster, bu…
Expectations must be first set that you are eating in a fast food type restaurant not in a fancy dining place. The food were served hot and taste delicious. Highly recommend the roasted duck and soy chicken! Yummy! In general, all the food tasted authentic Singaporean dish! Will visit the restaurant again for sure.
The chicken served was still raw. As you can see in the photo, there was even blood coming out of the bone. The service sucks, we had to go directly at the cashier to ask if they can take our order since we’ve been seating and waiting for their waiters for 15 minutes. When they placed our order slip in the table and asked us to double check, we noticed that extra plain rice instead of soya rice was written. But when we asked to change it to soya rice, they said that they cannot change it since it was already “punched” in their system. So what’s the point of asking us to double check the order…
After giving the wrong dish they tried to make me accept it but after much arguing they finally brought correct dish which was drowning in oil and only contained pieces of fat. I could only eat half and when I asked if they think that is acceptable, they refused to answer or admit any fault. Disgusting food, poor service and manager didn't care at all. Refused to comment.
Food portion is too little for its price point. And do you want to talk about its taste? Bland. Also, duck was tough and merely reheated, the noodles were served cold, and their laksa did not have enough kick and fish balls were overcooked. Slow service despite dining off peak hours on a weekday. Just generally displeasing and definitely won’t be back ever again.
