Sukiya in the Philippines is not a franchise but a branch store of Sukiya in Japan. They currently have over 2600 branches worldwide and close to 1950 in Japan alone. This is owned by Zensho Holdings and was started in 1982. Here in Manila they have 4 stores: Glorietta, SM Manila, SM Megamall and Walter Mart North EDSA. This place is solo friendly and service is not intimidating. The tables have the menus ready and you just need to press the button to call on a server. Food service is quick and serving size is just right. Price is a bit high but of normal range for a japanese restaurant. Payment is easy just go to the cashier after then go. Would go back here for a quick grub.

Our favorite place for a quick and satisfying meal of gyudon. This is a must-try resto. They are always full, wait time is around 10 minutes. They have hand wash area, service water, functioning sundae machine - this resto has the cheapest sundae anywhere. P29 if I remember correctly. Yes sir, I recommend.

₱165 Hokkaido Grilled Pork Bowl ₱60 Green veggies + miso soup Affordable and quick service. I always get a bar seat (for solo diners). There's a button you press when you need assistance. Chopsticks, tissues, condiments, menu on the table. For less than ₱250 you get a complete meal with soup and veg. This branch gets super crowded on weekends.

Queue was short when we got there but we got seated fast since we were just 2. Food was god but serving of meat vs rice is like 1:3. Chicken popcorn small is small serving size not that worth it imo. Miso soup was good.
