Japanese
Quezon City, Metro Manila
Food review • Premium Wagyu Gyukatsu – 9/10 • Rich umami flavor, top-notch meat quality. • Perfectly fried with a golden, crispy crust (fresh oil used). • One of the best gyukatsu experiences I’ve had. • Tenderloin Gyukatsu – 8/10 • Surprisingly tender, possibly Angus or high-quality Japanese beef. • Leaner but still flavorful, a great alternative to wagyu. • A solid choice depending on the mood. • Sides (Rice, Soup, Cabbage) , wished more dressing for the cabbage • Well-prepared, complementing the gyukatsu perfectly. TLDR: • Will I come back? Absolutely. • Worth the visit? Yes. …
The Gyukatsu Kyoto here is quite different from the one in Japan, which is what I expected. The portions are larger, and the sides are refillable (unlike in Japan), which is honestly a nice touch. The only downside is probably the difference in quality, but that's to be expected (Japan definitely has better quality). Overall, though, the food was still good.
