Hapag is the Filipino dining table; a low, short-legged table where Filipinos gather over their love for good food. For Chefs Nav and Thirdy,
I tried their course meal and it was amazing! It is not your traditional Pilipino food.
Hapag, under the skillful direction of Chef Kevin and his team, offers a masterful reinterpretation of Filipino cuisine, elevating it to the fine dining experience with precision and flair. Each dish exemplifies a bold play of flavors, textures, and layers, with a strong emphasis on techniques like fermentation that reflect their willingness to push boundaries and challenge culinary norms. From the first bite to the last, their commitment to honoring Filipino heritage is evident, as they breathe new life into traditional recipes while staying rooted in culture. Hapag’s menu is not just a meal…
Food was impeccable, no question about it. Besides the food, I truly enjoyed the wine pairing option as it elevated the dishes. The front of house service was good but can improve on coordinating with the back of house in bringing out the food and the drinks (I had to follow up a couple of times before we received it). Overall, I would recommend Hapag. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
