With the tagline of “Bold Japanese” Ooma is modern Japanese is popular for Sunday lunch. They also provide the perfect alfresco dining for people watching or even adorable pooch watching, as the beautiful people casually stroll past pushing their 4 legged puppy in a pram. This is classic BGC Manila. You can tell presentation plays an important factor at Ooma which translates equally well from the glossy pages of the menu to the dish that is ultimately served to you. O-gyoza, containing pork and cabbage with melted cheese is severed perfectly on a drip tray with mandatory dipping sauce. For …
We were there around lunch time so i expected some delays but for unagi and tempura mix were all cold and oily which was underwhelming.. Too hungry to complain. Dont go there when is lunch or dinner time if you dont order popular meals as the preparation may take longer than usual. The waiters and waitresses we're all helpful and kind! My gripe would be the comfort room is that there is only a toilet bowl and no urinal for men.. The good side is that they have a bidet.
I LOVE THEIR ABURI MIXER - It’s next level kind of taste. I ordered the Tsukemen - its nice to try something different. My sisters ordered Gyudon - you can never go wrong with this one. Place is okay but could definitely improve a lot (this is me comparing to other Japanese restaurants I’ve tried). Will definitely go back for the Aburi Mixer for sure!
First time getting disappointed with the service here :( It took so long despite being told that the serving time was at least 15mins. Some orders arrived cold. We also asked for hot tea upon ordering but they didn’t serve it. We ordered two cheesy katsu curry dishes but only one arrived so my sister had to wait extra. Despite the bad service that time, the food was still good. I love their tuna sashimi. The cuts were quite thick and the quality was just great. The oyster aburi maki was delicious as well. The cheesy katsu curry was alright, big serving. I also tried the mochi and matcha chee…
We had Truffle steak maki, kani salad, kimchi gyoza and soft shell crab roll. Everything was great , there’s just something with the maki that was too salty to our taste but when i asked for japanese mayo to counter it they wanted to replace as they expect the yakiniku sauce to cause it. We didn't replace but went ahead with the mayo, the saltiness was toned down and all’s good. We asked for the bill and was surprised with a complimentary vanilla icecream with candied nuts. Service was excellent, definitely recommends.
