Japanese
Talaingod, Davao del Norte
Historical but somewhat unfortunate remnant of World War II Japanese occupation. Eirie and exciting. I can almost feel the presence of captured spirits there. Provided hard hats for safety in going through the man made dug tunnel.
WW2 remnant of Japanese war tunnel. Apparently was about 7 kilometres originally but due to natural disasters only about 350 or so metres left. Cost is about 70 pesos per person and a guide goes with you to explain the intricacies which does make the experience more enjoyable. Unfortunately takes about 15 to 20 minutes of your time. However is on the same route as the Philippines Eagle sanctuary and Malagos Garden Resort and Chocolate factory and if you combine those 3 activities in the 1 day it is well worth the trip. Must wear a Helmet too and I'm 6 feet tall and did hit my head sometimes…
Location: very easy to locate and accessible to/from downtown area and nearby barangays in Davao City. Also it has wide parking area on the nearby lot (kailangan lakarin tho but its OK & not a problem) Rooms: since its an old (but not too old) establishment, the rooms need renovation and some designs are outdated. The CR has minor issues and fixtures can be improved for better service. The room is clean and but the lighting needs to be replaced kasi medyo madilim na. Service: 💯! Staffs are very accommodating and welcoming! They are approachable and always greets the guests with a smile. Roo…
