We called to reserve a table for 11 AM and also placed our orders in advance. We arrived on time and we were the first customers to dine in, while there were mostly delivery riders waiting for orders. We still waited 20 minutes before our order was served. The server was nice and accommodating. The air conditioned room wasn't too cold at noontime. I recommend the Swahili Sampler if you're unfamiliar with this cuisine. The Ugali Firigisi is also a good appetizer. The server mentioned that they often sell out of stocks, so you better order early.

The first time I tried Mapishi was in Ortigas Weekend Market. Their lamb biryani made me fall in love so we dined in their resto at QC. Had Chapati and rojo sauce for appetizer. Addictive flavor you just can’t stop dipping the chapati in sauce. Reordered lamb biryani, it was as great as when I first had a taste. Very flavorful and perfectly spiced. Huge serving. Downed every with a glass of Mtindi which is a plain yogurt drink. As a fan of yogurt drinks, this did not disappoint! Also helped with calming down spice in my mouth. Resto was cozy. It was a good experience eating here. The food was delicious. Massive servings for the price. The vibe was fantastic. It was just terrible timing that they ran out of garlic yogurt sauce when we came in for dinner because they had a lot of guests earlier. I think my biggest issue was the cockroaches. One came flying towards me, other two were just roaming around near the tables. Made me worry about how hygienic the place is.

I was looking forward to going here for the past 3 months since I'm located in Makati. I was finally able to visit one Saturday but unfortunately had a bad experience. I was told that all the appetizers on the menu was not available. Only available option was Pilau and Biryani. I couldn't even order extra fried onions. A few items not available is fine but all the appetizers not being available is unacceptable.
