Max’s Restaurant’s beginnings started in 1945, after World War II. Maximo Gimenez, a Stanford –educated teacher, befriended the American occupation troops stationed at Quezon City. Because of this friendship, the soldiers regularly visited Maximo’s nearby home for a drink or two. Later on, the troops insisted that they pay for their drinks. This prompted Maximo to open a café where the troops could enjoy food and drinks. The café initially served chicken, steak and drinks. Maximo’s niece – Ruby, who managed the kitchen, created a special recipe for chicken that became an instant favorite for…
Staff were super nice here. They gave me a bunch of tissues more than I needed lol (which I left on the table). It's my first time trying their Chicken Sandwich. It was good. I also had hot Calamansi Juice. /travelspeedx
We ordered their pancit canton and special halo-halo. We also tried their spring chicken. This is ideal for groups and families. It would look pricey if you're going to dine alone or two. I also want to emphasize that the service was superb.
been years since the last i had max’s so i was excited when we had it. sadly, it was no longwr how i remembered it. it’s nice that they now have those ‘meal’ choices and some add-ons but quality and taste wise is still good but no longer the best. fries is cold. fried chicken thankfully is nice and juicy lumpiang shanghai doesn’t taste nice. pancit and tofu sisig is average ice scramble is good.
My dish, which was meant to be chicken and noodles, was very poor. The chicken (and I'm not even certain that it was) was so overcooked that it basically crumbled apart. I ate the noodles, cabbage, fish balls and shrimp and left the chicked(?) behind. The staff were friendly and welcoming. But the food was substandard. I definitely would not eat there again.
