The atmosphere of the restaurant is excellent. The food is surprisingly good Japanese food. I couldn't really stand the beef in the bento. Other than that, I think it's a satisfying restaurant. The prices are not too high. The sake selection is excellent and comes from Japan.

Most of the food we ordered are not available. The staff have waited until we ordered some plate from the long list menu and go check with the chef to tell us it ‘s unavailable. We have tried to changed the plate but still..and the last time even the someone from kitchen come to get our order she also did not tell us in advance what is available and wait until us choose something and it s was also unavailble.

There is a problem with their management.We called twice to confirm the reservation of the private room. When we arrived, they said it was reserved. The atmosphere and decoration were good, but the ingredients were poor. The wagyu beef was not even thawed and it was served to the guests.

Ambience - good. Food - so/so. Katsu’s batter was so thick and a bit hard to chew on, meat was so thin. Kitchen’s Exhaust wasn’t also turned on when they were cooking, so the place was a bit smelly (burnt oil smell) Price is on the pricier side as well, while you expect quality despite the relatively small serving, it wasn’t the case when we dined.

2 stars for the ambiance. We visited Tokyo Gyu and the food is disappointing. For the price, it is expensive. We ordered the grilled salmon and it was served cold and the side vegetables were overcooked. Another is pork asado which was a grilled pork with sweet and sour dip (Jufran perhaps?). Quite confused how it became asado. For the dessert, we had their best seller japanese cake. It was served in a posh like basket and so beautiful but the taste is not special. Eng Bee Tin would give more justice to hopia at a discount. To compensate for the bad experience, we tried their drinks and of c…
