My wife introduced me to this restaurant during her month-long training in Cagayan de Oro. It's called Pater Al-Kuwait, and it's a fascinating fusion of Middle Eastern and Filipino cuisine. 'Pater' is a traditional dish in Mindanao, where shredded meat is mixed with rice and wrapped in banana leaves, resulting in a flavorful and elevated version of the usual Filipino rice. I must admit, this restaurant stands out as one of the finest jalal restos I've ever experienced. For palapa enthusiasts, I wholeheartedly recommend it. One delightful touch is how they serve the palapa wrapped in bamboo leaves, adding an authentic feel to the experience. The dishes are undeniably delicious, but I find it best not to overindulge. A moderate portion is sufficient, especially considering the powerful spiciness that follows and its after-effects.
