This is our first time eating at the Alabang branch. One thing we noticed is that the lechon here tastes different from what we’re used to at other Rico’s Lechon branches. It doesn’t have the original Rico’s flavor we’ve enjoyed for years elsewhere. Also, the vegetables in the sinigang were undercooked. We hope management will take note of these issues, as the Alabang branch feels below the usual standard.
Here we go! Did we love the food here? Not so much, we believe that Rico's lechon is lit when it comes to lechon, maybe our batch was not that great. Ordered the Regular 1/4 Lechon with gravy 2 garlic rice, served in this miniature metal kawali And gulay kare-kare 1 ice tea This place gets full at lunch time and dinner time, and their staff is quite ready for it. We arrived around 11am with a few people inside, we got seated right away, read the menu and ordered. The staff informed us that it will be 20min. for our order to arrive. In less than that time it starts to arrive. Gulay kare-ka…
The lechon was dry and the mango shake had a huge block of ice, which made it difficult to drink. Although the service was super quick, I was told that the wait time was going to be 15-20 minutes, but they served my food within 5 minutes. The place is a bit cramped and messy. There were tissues, receipts, plastic bags on the floor, even bones, and some litter under the tables. No one bothered to clean it up, maybe because it was almost closing time, but isn't it a general practice to tidy up the tables before entertaining a new set of customers?
The rice platter was dry, lacked water, so some parts were a bit undercooked. The vegetable kare-kare lacked vegetables for the price of 420. The lechon belly was served without sauce. If we hadn't asked, they wouldn't have told us it was still being heated. When we followed up, they said it was already out of stock. We asked if they had at least vinegar, and they said they did. I didn’t even bother to respond anymore, why didn't they just serve that? 😫 So frustrating. This was our second time here. The first visit, the service and food were okay. This time, worst experience. We’re not coming…
Rico's Lechon Service: I recently visited Rico's Lechon on a weekday night and was disappointed with the slow service. Even though the restaurant was not busy, it took over an hour for me to receive my food. Food: The lechon itself was delicious, with crispy skin and juicy meat. The other dishes I ordered, such as the sisig and kare-kare, were also good. Price: The prices at Rico's Lechon are reasonable, but the slow service makes the overall dining experience less enjoyable. Overall: I would recommend Rico's Lechon for the food, but be prepared for slow service.
