Found another comfort food spot at Rumah Makan Kampung. The food is very tasty and served in generous portions. The owner-cook was very enthusiastic about sharing his craft with us. It felt like a warm welcome on a breezy countryside afternoon. Will order again soon!
Food (5/5) - Bloody Delicious, however the menu isn't a lot but who cares at least it's good. Service (5/5) - Friendly and very approachable, Kuya even brought the food upstairs just to bring my food. Atmosphere (5/5) - Very calming and really smooths my mind from the stress that I'm experiencing at the day I visit the place.
It was my first time here and the owner recommended I try their nasi goreng. I ordered two options — udang (shrimp) and kampung (shrimp and anchovies combo) — for takeout. Owner asked on a scale of 1 to 10 how spicy do I want them to be. Opted for a 3 as I’ll be sharing them with family. The younger ones have low tolerance for heat. I've been here several times and have been ordering my personal favorites: nasi goreng kampung and char kway teow, though I have yet to try other food on the menu.
I don’t have a blog or some sort of it but I just cannot not share my dining experience at RMK. Ergo, Google reviews will have to do and put up with my yapping. I went to Shophouse Heritage with a different goal in mind (desserts, as per my MO). So when fates (an empty tummy) led me to RMK, I didn’t know what to expect at all. As an introvert whom neurotically peruse online menus and reviews before visiting a store, it was a predicament of panic proportions. But good fates were truly upon me that day as I cross paths with the man behind the counter. Sir Leo took the time to explain every it…
