My daughter saw an online clip about this resto and wanted to try it out with us on her birthday. We were surprised at the sizing of the maki rolls, they were like Filipino versions due to the amount of rice 😂. We enjoyed every bit of food here, it was nice that we went during off-peak hours, so the restaurant wasnt full and servers were quick to assist us. The place and concept are fun and creative. The food seems a little overpriced for the quality and taste. The service is extremely poor. The order was taken reasonably well, but the serving itself took over 30 minutes and was still incomplete. The extra sunny-side-up egg took another 30 minutes or so and then a couple more minutes for the tempura. For context, we were the ONLY customers in the entire restaurant at that time. The ambiance was pleasant and welcoming, though there was an unpleasant odor during our visit. While the food didn't quite hit the mark for my taste, Saigosan in BGC does shine with its sushi platter, which boasts fresh and skillfully crafted sushi—a true treat for seafood enthusiasts. The burger, an unusual addition to a Japanese menu, was surprisingly good and provided an interesting twist.
