It's not the most mind-blowing coffee experience I've had, but it's definitely solid. I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars. I liked their flat white. It was robust and had a nice, smooth finish. I enjoyed the quality and its consistency. I tried it on a couple of different occasions and it was always good. It had a nice, balanced flavor with a strong espresso base and creamy, velvety milk foam on top.
The coffee transition from HK to Manila is without any doubt successful. The flavor is not lost in translation unlike the other international brands that set up shop here and reinterpreted the taste profile of their products. Such a shame this is just a kiosk in the mall. The hot signature latte is quite good and vastly superior to the cold version. My favorite would be the off the wall Agave latte hot with a Mexican agave nectar sprinkled with black peppercorn.
Ordered one of their coffee specialties- Agave. It was weird to taste pepper in my coffee. Not for me. Price was steep at 220. Latte was nothing exceptional except that it was in a gold cup and saucer. Even the spoon is gold in color! 3 Cheese Croissant was good. Not too warm though because the cheese were not spread inside. It remained at the center of the bread. Service at the counter was slow.
Coffee Academics is not that spacious and seats are a bit limited (I think I've seen 8 tables and 16 chairs only). It doesn't have it's own space/store, it's like a kiosk or a pop up booth in the mall concourse so it feels a bit exposed. Staff were very friendly, although food served w/o any tray. We ordered 2 of their Signature coffee, Agave (Hot) - P210 and Okinawa (Cold) - P220. We also ordered Custard Croissant and Japanese Curry Vegetable bun. Tbh, I didn't see anything special w/ both of the coffee, it tasted sweet and no hint of coffee taste. It was very overpriced for it's size, I e…
Coffee was a bit sweet and not that strong. We tried Agave (hot) but were served warm. Limited chairs if you want to dine in. Overpriced coffee
