Though a chain restaurant, I consider this a hidden gem! I went on a weekday night, and there were barely any people. It made the atmosphere comfortable. Honestly, it could be a great studying spot for students if they order enough. The food was good; I got the Hainanese Chicken and Barley Tea. The chicken wasn't aromatic as much as soy sauce-based, which was surprising but still delicious. The barley was authentic. The chicken came with soup, which was unexpected, but it just tasted like regular broth. Staff were nice. Shout out to Chad, who refilled my water twice without me asking. Also…
Surprisingly good! Authentic Singaporean cuisine. Simple interior design. Attentive server. Must try: Hainanese chicken rice set, Pork kikiam, Singapore Ice tea Prices are bit pricey... Soft opening so service can be laggy but they try and it's fine. Food, though, is good. The hainanese chicken paired with their sauce is just the best. The lemon chicken and mayo chicken is good too though i prefer lemon chicken more. Congee, while not the best, is pretty good. Didn't like the chicken feet though. The kikiam is chinese style. The squid tempura and fish tofu though are kind of disappointing. They're basically just balls. Overall a good experience. This became one of my favorite since I first tried it on BGC.
portion size for the price is v generous
Tried out their branch at SM City North EDSA 👌 Everything we've ordered tasted great, especially the Lemon Chicken and Laksa. There are lots of spaces inside the restaurant, the service was quick, and the crew were accommodating 💯 I just noticed that the Laksa they served was a bit cold. Also, I find it a little unappetizing when some crew members are literally sleeping a few tables away from us. One person was even snoring while we're eating. We dined at about 5:00PM, I don't know if they regularly allow their resting crew members to hang around like that.
