Very good ramen in the MOA Food Hall (level 3). My daughter really wanted ramen for her birthday and got the Tonkotsu Ramen (Rich) and absolutely loved it. Once my wife had a taste she had to steal some. I was recommended the Spicy Karaage Ramen which was super spicy on my first mouthful, but I as I continued to eat I was able to adjust. My only concern was it seemed as if the serving looked huge, but not enough actual ramen or meat which seems to be the norm at ramen restaurants. Definitely deserves the 5 star rating.
Presentation looks good, but the flavors are muted compared to ramendoko. Everything here is coded with grease, and the chicken karage was oil saturated. This would be a hit with there was an experience with Japanese food, because the presentation looks excellent. But the quality isn’t on point.
To be honest, I had very little expectation from a food court diner, but I was pleasantly surprised by their tsukemen. It’s not often you find small diners serving this dish, so I decided to give it a try, and I really enjoyed it! The flavors were vibrant, and the price was just right for the quality of food.
I'm Japanese, so I eat a lot of ramen. If I were to judge it as a Japanese person, I would say it was delicious. If I say it wasn't bad, it wasn't bad. To be honest, it was a different kind of ramen, a martial arts ramen.
