We’ve been here numerous times. The cheapest and best value oysters you’ll ever find in Manila, & El Nido. The last two times was in October after eating in Kei (overpriced Japanese concept from Wildflour), we went here just to fill ourselves. We really enjoy their baked oysters, have tried almost every single dish in the menu including the kids section. Service was natural, without the ubiquitous “Hows the food?” Place is tastefully designed. Top three in BGC High Street South block.
We've visited this branch twice already since it opened, and we're really liking the vibe of the place. Almost similar with their branch in Makati, but more spacious. No need to worry na rin sa parking!! As usual, oysters are fresh, baked oyster is still the best, even if marami ng baked oysters sa ibang resto🙂. First time trying their clam chowder, and it wassoo good! Creamy, maraming scallops. Sriracha baby squid is easily a crown fave, peach lemon sake is nice too!
I had a great experience at Wantusawa BGC! The food was delicious and served quickly. The waiters were friendly and attentive. They even offer an affordable dog menu, which was a pleasant surprise. The oysters were fresh and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place!
Wantusawa in BGC is a well made expansion of the hole in the wall bar in Poblacion Makati. The service is impeccable and food came out very fast, with the staff asking once or twice how the food was, if we would like to add any order, and what items we ordered were coming up. The restaurant is also wonderfully designed even if the proportions of the floor plan are a little awkward. The food is affordable especially since it's in BGC. Oysters as of 2024 are still 50 pesos a piece. Will come back again.
Personally, I prefer the vibe at poblacion. Place felt kinda dry and stuffy. Besides the oysters and tuna tataki salad, the food was subpar. Menus still listed them being on soft opening, so maybe give them a little bit more time to improve. Octopus and fish & chips were a miss. Though the octopus was soft, the accompaniments were too rich and umay after the second bite. Fish was dry and tough to bite. Cocktails were nothing special.
