Indonesian
Quezon City, Metro Manila
Underrated spot in maginhawa. Indonesian food.
Warung Indon is located along Maginhawa St., opposite of Holy Family School of Quezon City. It has a veranda in the second floor where you can dine-in at the window, looking at the street. Majority of the menus have indonesian-style meal and the rests are local Filipino food. The combo style Makan Ayan Betutu is sufficient for a solo person. Their Salad Gado-Gado (fresh Salad with sweet peanut butter sauce) is huge.
Although the name leads you to believe it’s an Indonesian restaurant, it actually leans more towards Filipino cuisine. Food is nothing extraordinary and is more like “lutong-bahay.” What they served us is not horrible but also not worth remembering. Do not recommend the nasi goreng, it’s nothing like nasi goreng at all. Service was quick although the staff serving us at the time forgot to take down one of our orders and served us a large when we ordered a regular. Would say that the food is a tad bit overpriced for what it is. Tried it one time because everything else was closed but would…
UPDATE: Our group ate last June 29. We were 7 and seated in the air conditioned area — located at the ground floor. As customers, we had some requests — Soup refill, tissue, etc. Every time we ask for something, it seems like they’re NOT IN THE MOOD AND GRUMPY — in short, HOSPITALITY NOT FOUND. Kami nalang ang nahihiyang mag ask ng refill ng sabaw or even yung refill ng sauces. Ang sungit eh. ————————— Missed eating in Indonyaki and found this newly rebranded Warung Indon. The same menu as indonyaki's and even the cooks. The food is superb and something that you want to go back to. As usu…
I've been craving for simple homemade food because of the vast amount of "fastfood" and "hyped" food along the Maginhawa strip. I'm glad to have found this place. Sate Ayam was my favorite - you can savor the fresh crushed peanuts with the tangy sauce drizzled all over the grilled chicken. Makan Ayam Betutu was also good. It was like a fusion dish of a Filipino roasted chicken in herby coconut sauce. The ambiance is also homey and simple because of the well-functioning aircon. They separated the kitchen from the dining, which is nice because I imagine the aroma of herbs and spices would be…
