Went on a quiet weekday evening. You really know its stroves
Great food on a restaurant that strives to be authentic. Totally see why it is quite refreshing to see a quaint restaurant such as this exist in Timog area. You should try their fish dishes, really thought out. If you crave for Japan, this is a great place to feel the nostalgia.
Visited on a rather quiet sunday afternoon. Enjoyed the food immensely because of the variety and quality. There were a few offerings that you won't see very often in Japanese restaurants in the Metro (top of mind, dango 🍡). Had a chirashi don and the fish and uni were fresh as can be! Service was great, we never had to ask for a water refill, though the food took a bit of time to come out (understandable, we ordered too much 😅) Overall excellent experience, and I am excited to come back!
I consider Zipang as my friendly neighborhood Japanese restaurant. The chef is Japanese so you know the food is legit. Upon entering the restaurant, the attendants will give you a wet towel to wipe your hands and give you green tea for free. They have bento, donburi and different ala-carte dishes. My favorite is the chicken karaage because the chicken is so juicy! If you order a meal, it comes with different side dishes and miso soup! Another favorite is their sukiyaki (shown in photo). They also have the traditional Japanese dessert. A must-try if you crave for authentic Japanese food.
Authentic and the food tastes so good. The staff are friendly and accommodating as well!
